If Froch could set a hot pace the championship rounds could be interesting. Anyway you paint it, Hops was buying time against Calzaghe in round 10, a 44-year-old fighter will not be able to fight for 36-minutes at a frenetic pace. Whilst it is Hopkins game to slow things down, I think Froch could take him out of his comfort zone.
You still have to favour Hopkins, it's hard to see anyone who gets hit as often as Froch beating Hopkins.
Probably the worst possible fight you can make for Froch as far as styles and entertainment value go, but it's testament to Froch that even this is interesting. Everyone will know Froch will be getting whopped all-over-the-shop, but the man is so hittable Hopkins might put his foot on the pedal too much and burn his 44-year-old self out...finally.
Or he could take Froch out.Comment

Pavlik fight was what October?I agree with most everyone that hopkins would school froch.
But
is anyone concerned with the fact that hopkins hasn't stepped in the ring since Pavlik? Not even for basic training, sparring, or anything for that matter.
he's only stayed in physical shape by working out at local gyms, hasn't been to a boxing gym since Pavlik.
if the fight is made i'd expect it to be in september or october.Comment

Yeah, but Pavlik was so hittable too and Hopkins put his foot on the pedal and actually finished the championship rounds pretty hard and even went for the KO in round 12.
So he didn't have the stamina problem he did with calzaghe, probably because he had to do less grappling.
I'm guessing, although I could be wrong, hopkins would have a similar game plan that he used for Pavlik against Froch, which was to be more offensive. I don't think he would use the same gameplan against Calzaghe which was clinch to slow down joe's out put, since Froch isn't a punching machine like Joe is.Comment
