Former world middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins believes Ricky Hatton will have to improve his defence if he is to make a winning return to the MGM Grand against Manny Pacquiao on Saturday night.
Hopkins was speaking exclusively to Sky Sports News at the press conference ahead of the upcoming super-fight in Las Vegas.
And "The Executioner" has warned Hatton that he must be more cautious if he is to avoid an Oscar De Lay Hoya-esque mauling at the hands of the Filipino pound-for-pound king.
Hopkins told SSN: "Hatton is known for throwing his hands and having fast punches.
"Pacquiao is more of a sharp-shooter, more of a pin-point guy who will set you up with his legs which will accumulate in punches.
"He gets in position, that's what I mean by legs, and he pops you when you come forward and Ricky Hatton is a come-forward guy.
"He is offence first then defence second but I think that people are going to see that is Ricky Hatton.
"Floyd Mayweather Snr won't want Hatton being on the straight line, but coming in with his armour moving his head from left to right, coming in with some shoulder fakes.
"He needs to get Pacquiao thinking instead of giving him a shot."
