If Hatton wins, is it really an upset?

I think people are getting carried away by both of these fighters last performances. The fact is hatton is still undefeated in this weight class and pac has never actually fought at 140. So regardless of what people think that pac is the current p4p king this fight is really up for grabs.

This is a 50-50 fight IMO. The fighter who can impose his style through out the fight will win it!

    what you think?

No Pac is aginst a style hes never seen...at a weight class hes never fought at..and he will take the hardest punches of his career...and he wil backed up all night..and Mnny cant fight going backwards.

Its not an upset..I fully expect.

      Hatton by KO 9.

Betting odds says it is and mainstream media will claim so.

But personally, not really, especially since Hatton claims that Manny is the smaller and less powerful fighter. I'll call this 52-50, just like their purse according to Arum (not 52-48 as originally reported), with the 2% edge to Manny. By KO of course. Ricky is a tough fight for Manny and if he wins it shouldn't be called an upset.

I think the people that follow pacman too much, and think stepping up in weight divisions from what he did to dela hoya, will take it as an upset...

the people that remmember hatton is undefeated at light-welter....and know pacman is stepping into a weight he hasnt really been tested at....wont take it as an upset...

Technique-wise, meaning their comparative skill sets and abilities, I would say probably. Hatton has good skills pretty much near the best but I think Pacquiao has tremendous stamina and speed and knows how to get power into his punches. Hatton has more power than Pacquiao I'm pretty sure about that but will he be able to use it?

Ricky will be the naturally bigger guy and has the experience at that weight advantage as well. Looking at it from a weight class standpoint, Hatton has more advantages and would appear to have a large advantage over Pacquiao.

Looking at it from an overall abilities view, Pacquiao has the advantages in my opinion. Although Pacquiao has less power (more likely than not), I feel that his punches will land much more frequently than Hatton's will as Hatton will be trying to ko Pacman I think to prove a point while Manny lands quick straight punches. I'm banking that Hatton's face will show the accumulation and hinder him.

.....Dunno about upsets but I do know that the situation provides a lot of excuses for both sides depending on who loses and who you wanted to lose.

It's a huuuuuuuuuuuge upset and a career high if Hatton wins.

              Everyone is writing him off.

It would be one of the biggest upset's in the history of the sport, 90% of people think he has 0 chance of even winning 10 seconds of a round off pac-man.

                  Who is everyone....the writers?

I'm not. I think he can win and if he can show up at his best, I slightly favor him. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he knocks Pac out.

The one thing that concerns me is that performance against Lazcano. Mayweather as well, but different fighter. If he shows up like he did against Lazcano, forget it.
