Bradley vacates title, ducks devon alexander

Don Jose: It has been a privilege representing the World Boxing Council as its super lightweight champion for the past 12 months and no one was more proud to wear that illustrious green belt than I.

The WBC believed in me and recognized my victories, advancing my ratings accordingly. Because of your support I was able to challenge Junior Witter for the WBC title last year and defend it and unify it, and for that I will always be grateful. It is important that unified champions should be encouraged thus eliminating the title confusion that permeates the sport or the media that cover it and the fans who follow it.

However, because the WBC has issued an edict to choose between titles, it is with a heavy heart that I relinquish my WBC title and allow the contenders below me to challenge for it.

I will always cherish my reign as WBC super lightweight champion and I hope to have the opportunity to fight for that honor again.

    Sincerely,

    Timothy Bradley

The WBC stripped him and Bradley didn't duck Alexander. Just makes sense for him to keep the WBO, Pacquiao and Hatton are ranked number 1 and 2, he wants the winner of that fight.

If you think that the WBO (or any) rankings are going to force Hatton or Pac to fight Bradley then you are delusional. They are only interested in dollars, not titles.

I know, but I think Bradley and his team are hoping for it.

He doesnt have any chance of getting either pacman or Hatton, His best shot would be to fight Alexander or nate campbell, And yes i think he ducked devon...I like bradley by the way.

He wasnt stripped, He could have enter into serious negiotation with devon to get his mandatory out of the way but he choose not to for like the 3rd time.

You never know, he probably has more chance of getting them with the WBO belt than the WBC belt, Victor Ortiz is ranked 3rd as well. Those are big money fights for him. It doesn't mean he'll get those fights obviously but there's no harm in trying.

It doesn't make sense to say he ducked Alexander, Alexander is a good up and coming fighter but he doesn't deserve his number 1 spot, there are bigger and better fights out there for Bradley.

                Whats to duck?

On Alexander's performance against Rodriguez i dont think Bradley see's anything he could not deal with.

How doesnt he deserve the number one spot??? Before Bradley himself fought Witter who knew bradley??? Would it be fair to say bradley was a good up and comer who doesnt deserve his number 1 spot at that time???

No-one can judge a fighter because he doesnt have a big-name, If Bradley end up fighting Victor ortiz next then i would hold my hands up and say he didnt duck devon but if he end up fighting another edner cherry then i would say he duck devon blatantly.

Bradley actually fought better guys, he just did it on a smaller stage. Camerena is pretty much better than anyone Alexander has fought so far apart from a shopworn Chop Chop and Bradley had been making a name for himself in the Cali gyms. How can you say he ducked Alexander when he fought top guys like Junior Witter and Kendall Holt? That just doesn't make sense, Alexander is a step down.
