Hopkins Says He Isn't Pursuing a Trinidad Rematch

Contrary to the many reports out there, Bernard Hopkins is not chasing a rematch with Felix "Tito" Trinidad. Last week promoter Don King met with Trinidad in Puerto Rico and told the local media that he flew in to discuss a rematch with Hopkins. King told the local media that it was Hopkins and his team who made contact with them for the fight. Hopkins disputes that and says it is Trinidad and King who are chasing after the fight. [details]

I would definitely be more inclined to believe Hopkins, because... he already passed up a big money fight with Jones because he said he believes Jones is done as a fighter.

That done fighter, Jones, whipped Trinidad into shape a year and change ago, so...

I seriously doubt that Hopkins is the one lying here, and I hope I'm right, because a rematch of this fight would be a travesty.
