    Looking over Calzaghe's resume again

While his stand out names are Eubank, Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins and Jones there are also fighters like Mitchell, Brewer, Sheika and Veit. Obviously those fighters are less well known. How do you rate those boxers? Who would you compare them to in terms of class? Would you say Mitchell is in the same class of fighter as a Collazo or Brewer was in the same class as a Cintron? I personally think these fighters are a step down from the Collazo's and Cintrons of this world. They aren't great back up wins.

when he had a real challenge in front of him named glen johnson he pulled out the night before the fight claiming he hurt his hand. now joe how do you hurt your hand the day before a fight? training is over. signing autographs to your nuthugger fans maybe? then he pulled out of a glen johnson fight again for the second time. this coupled with warrens testimony saying calzaghe was insecure and scared before fights leads to only one conclusion. FRAUD!

Calzaghe had some tough fights that were overlooked - I think Sheika and Brewster are decent names. I don't rate Veit very highly and Mitchell was simply a beltholder. Sheika was young, undefeated and though somewhat limited, tenacious. Brewster was cursed to have a suspect chin that often let him down. Still, he was quite talented--on the wrong side of midnight when Calzaghe fought him but he wasn't fully faded.

A prime Brewster might be a notch better than Collazo; in fact I'd say he was. But after watching him against Antwun Echols (before Calzaghe), it's clear he wasn't anywhere near that prime. Calzaghe fought Sheika at his best but Sheika's best wasn't much better than say, David Telesco's.

A lot of Calzaghe's defenses pre Lacy were against less than stellar opposition, but he did face some good fighters along the way.
