Of course it will boost his record and possibly legacy. Then it comes down to whether you are a die-hard Mayweather fan, a casual boxing fan, or a fan who is more objective regarding evaluating the career of Mayweather.

A die-hard Mayweather fan will more than likely (not always) give him credit for beating Marquez regardless of the weight and probably will make excuses as to why certain differences should be ignored or are not important.

A casual boxing fan who may only watch two or three PPVs per year will only know the names and care less about the weight/height/age differences in the fight. They will likely agree with whoever invited them over to watch the fight.

A fan who is not a heavy Mayweather enthusiast may find the fact that Mayweather is younger, faster, and more acclimated to the weight at which he wishes to fight at, an inclination that Floyd is trying to take advantage of an older boxer. Sure they are both P4P but how many pluses would you give Marquez over Floyd at this stage of his career and being that he must put on a few more lbs too.

It will be a great fight but are those advantages that Floyd had over Marquez important enough to tarnish a win over Marquez? I guess it depends on what kind of person you are.

Sometimes people dont feel like themselves you can be a great performer and still on any given day not feel like your useful self. You maybe tired, your maybe sick or perhaps your just out of shape. When JMM steps in the ring with Mayweather he will not be the same fighter that fought Pacquiao, Marco Antonio barrera, or Joel Casamayor. He'll be slower, he''l get tire and his speed will be less. Age won't do him any good either. He'll be an easy prey. But thats just what Mayweather is looking for a name with no game.

Again. This is what I was talking about, you suck at arguing one on one. You completely ducked my counter points and went straight for me. And you clearly made this thread to counter act mine. My post had me saying it really does nothing for Mayweather's legacy, and then you made a thread saying "You're a fool to think this does nothing for Mayweather's legacy" A little convenient no?

Also the reason why you don't know me probably is because I don't only post on Floyd...I post about different fighters other then big time fights and the welterweight division like you do. I follow boxing as a whole.
