Yup... same ol' crap. To be the #1 p4p, apparently, Hatton has to beat the current #1, the former (and never actually deposed) #1, the current #2, and the current #5. He gets let off fighting Vasquez because that wouldn't be much of a contest. If he's lucky he might get off having to fight B-Hop for the same reason in reverse, but sometimes I think folks will insist he has to do that as well.

No, Hatton does not have to "go through JMM, Shane and then PBF". Nothing like that requirement seems to apply to any other fighter, be it Pacqiuao, Mayweather or whoever. If Hatton beats Pacquiao and then one other of those any sensible person would consider him p4p #1. The only one with anywhere near as good a claim would be Floyd IF he beats JMM. then it would be rematch time.

i don't know if you know that ricky is not even in the top 10 like here on nsb!he's #8 in ring mag.do you think it's fair for the other fighters for himto be #1 by only beating pac when people like jmm fought back 2 back good fights?it's your choice to be fair or unfair...and i just noticed hatton has the poorest resume among the top 10!

Do you even know why Manny is P4P King right now? According to most boxing experts, it's because he moved up and beat everyone placed in front of him. From 106 to 147, that's why. Hatton has fought in 2 divisions and didn't look very impressive in one of them. How could you even consider him in the top 5 P4P. I ranked him # 10 and only moved up to # 9 after Calzaghe retired.

I don't care what people think of Manny's opposition, which lately has been questionable, but he beat everyone placed in front of him from whatever division. That's P4P stuff. From 106 to 147!!! 5 world titles, 3 linears, 4 HOF....

If Hatton beats Pac, who everyone feels is really moving up and according to Ricky the smaller man, JMM moves up to #1 and depending on how Hatton beats Pac, with the impending retirement of BHop, he will be between 3 and 6 IMHO. He has to beat JMM (smaller man, again) and then PBF or Shane (both a step up).
