Yup... same ol' crap. To be the #1 p4p, apparently, Hatton has to beat the current #1, the former (and never actually deposed) #1, the current #2, and the current #5. He gets let off fighting Vasquez because that wouldn't be much of a contest. If he's lucky he might get off having to fight B-Hop for the same reason in reverse, but sometimes I think folks will insist he has to do that as well.
No, Hatton does not have to "go through JMM, Shane and then PBF". Nothing like that requirement seems to apply to any other fighter, be it Pacqiuao, Mayweather or whoever. If Hatton beats Pacquiao and then one other of those any sensible person would consider him p4p #1. The only one with anywhere near as good a claim would be Floyd IF he beats JMM. then it would be rematch time.
