Taylor was a promising young star. A winner of a bronze medal 2000 Olympics in Sydney.

Taylor is good but he is not as great as everyone thought he was.

I think Taylors problems began shortly after he beat Hopkins
Hopkins really did a number on this kids head.

Although Taylor won both fights, Hopkins was deep in Taylors head (Taylor had no business beating Hopkins twice) Hopkins beat himself and he knows it.

More doubt began to sink in after Winky then the bore fests against Auma and Spinks had Taylor frustrated the fans got to Taylor too and things just began going down hill from there and to make matters worse, he was no longer knocking any one out. .

Taylor has his moments. He is just one of those fighters who can't always be in the zone and I am not sure if this is a mental thing or a physical thing. I know that he has a stuttering problem and stuttering aint something normal either and he has had to deal and fight with that his entire life. I have never been big on Taylor and I blame Hopkins for creating this monster. lol

So did Pavlik ruin Taylor? The truth is a knock out will ruin anyone wether they like it or not but like others have stated above, he looked the same to me. So the answer is yes and no. Maybe just a little.

Not worth their salt? Taylor is America's #1 rated super middle (granted we're talking about a nation of quitters - just look at their military). He can't help that Calzaghe retired just to avoid the inevitable defeat he would have suffered at the hands of Froch, as he recently said on British television. You can only beat who is prepared to fight you, and Froch is undefeated.

Pavlik couldn't knock him out second time round, so your comparison doesn't doesn't stand up.
