    Mike Tyson's Punch Out Question

I was a little kid when I played it, and didn't understand that punching the body was a necessity.

With that information, you can imagine that I had real trouble with King Hippo.

Did anyone else not get the hint that his body was the soft spot, and punched him in the face so many times over the 3 rounds that you got a KO from head shots?

I did... once. Then I figured out the body, but...

    Am I the only one?

I didn't know you could actually beat Hippo if you didn't attack his body when his shorts dropped after the head punch.

I remember playing it and losing to Hippo, and then someone told me to hit his body after hitting his head, and he became easy to beat.

Then I used to have hell against Great Tiger, but once I figured out the pattern, he became easy.

He definitely puts too much stock into his tiger punch if he just gives up when it gets blocked every time.

Yeah, you can beat Hippo, you are just reduced to one punch at a time. It took the majority of the entire fight to get him down enough to drop him once. It's possible, but requires flawless play, and is super frustrated. I wouldn't recommend it.

That's the kind of **** I would've done as a kid when I got bored with the games and wanted to do new things.

Like for instance, win one or two fights by decision, so the code would be different to get to a certain guy.

Or beat Mike Tyson via decision rather than KO.

I slowly worked my way up. First it was hard to beat Honda, then it was hard to beat Flamenco, then Tiger, then Hippo (or vice versa?), then Bald Bull Oliver McCall.

After that I found out the code for Tyson, so I just kept fighting him over and over again until I finally beat him and then it became easy.

I think I must've beat Tyson about 20 times before I finally beat Super Macho Man.
