From the second the "Dream Match" was announced talks of Oscar picking on the smaller guy started immediately. There was so much bashing that Oscar told himself that he would make sure he was not any larger than pacquiao, and literally starved and dehydrated himself for way too long. I think that Oscar wanted to do everything in his power to make sure people would not be able to use the size issues as an excuse once oscar pummeled manny. He should not have cared what people said, I mean ****, shouldnt Oscar at least get one or two of the physical edges when manny has EVERYTHING else in his favor? but not, Oscar is too self conscious and cares too much of what the public thinks. Furthermore, he made sure that he would not gain any weight in the next 24 hours leading up to the fight, to ensure that on the pre-fight weigh in was not in his favor. This theory was CONFIRMED when on HBO 24/7 even The Joke Coach Roach said that he could tell he was rehydrated AFTER the weigh in, which was WAY too late. Now do you think a veteran of the sport with the million dollar training dream team he had did not know that this would DRASTICALLY affect Oscar for the fight. However, Oscar PURPOSELY did it against everyone including his own good judgement simply to prove everyone wrong about him winning based on size.
Shame Oscar did not just do his thing like usual. Obviously the fight would have been MUCH more competitive, and I think Oscar would have pulled the knockout late in the fight. If you really pay attention to the fight, Manny NEVER once really phased Oscar with his punches, no matter how hard and how many he landed. yeah he busted and swole his face up, but he was never even close to KO'ing oscar cold off his feet. The few punches and combos that oscar did throw and land BACKED manny way the **** up, he even lifted him off his feet a little with his sole solid body shot.
