was there a better time for boxing than 2003?

When Roy Jones ruled the boxing world after his win over john ruiz and was becoming a household name and being argued as one of the greatest boxers ever and this UFC stuff wasn't as popular....that was the best time to be a boxing fan.

Good news is, MMA/UFC will never be on the same level as boxing no matter how popular it gets.

When Corrie Sanders wrecked Wlad in 2, that was so awesome.

Myself I am partial to 1999 and 2000.

Out of all the great years in boxing, you choose 2003?

ufc was popular even back then in 1993.they changed many rules and their standards went downhill.look at the calibers of their top fighters vs even just boxing's top contenders.it's like nice suit vs t-shirt.i would only choose mma over boxing when it's guarateed toe to toe action ,not 95% hugging match which will never happen!lastly,i don't know if you noticed that most of mma's top strikers obviously won't have a good future in boxing while good boxers can really do good just by learning ground games in a year !it takes years to produce great boxers!
