Within about an hour of each other if miles apart, 31-year old WBC Super Middleweight titlist Carl Froch (25-0, 20 KO) and 25-year old WBO Jr. Featherweight titlist Juan Manuel Lopez (25-0, 23 KO) picked up the best wins of their respective careers against former World Champions who came to win but were refused the honor. Considering the rabid fan bases for the sport in Froch’s native U.K., and in Lopez’s native Puerto Rico, the results strengthen a sport which is hitting on all cylinders heading into the biggest fight of the year so far, Ricky Hatton-Manny Pacquiao.
