Maybe Pacquiao was weak against body shots in those fights but he probably has a lot better body preparation now compared to his early days. He might still be susceptible to the body but probably not as bad as before.

There was an article about the low-blow and the protective cup a while back showing that the effects wasn't as great as fighters may lead you to believe although certain shots can have a painful affect depending on how and where the punch is delivered. Teddy Atlas talked about this as well.

Here is the one fight. Increase screen size and keep trying to pause it when you see the punch about to land....Time 3:33 is their slow motion.

It's hard to tell a bit but it does look like the initial contact of the punch landed on the chin and chopped it's way down to the body.

The cup has to be tailor made in order to be effective. It has to be a custom fit. You dont just put on any cup as these are not custom. The same thing goes with the MOUTH PIECE, you dont just get any mouth piece. When I was fighting, both were custom because my trainer made it this way but not all fighters have the luxury of having custom equipment given to them or made for them.

Manny back then was so poor, he did not have enough to eat. He was a skinny kid who was just getting by. Do you think that Manny had a custom fit protector? If you don't have a snug cup, you will get hurt.

So stop trying to pretend you know what you are talking about because I doubt you have ever even been in the ring.

The test in question was done by Pedro Fernandez who was using his very own protector for this demonstration when he was hit with a sledge hammer to prove a point. This was also done by Johny knoxville who was also using a custom protector, they didnt just grab any protector and say ok hit me.

Dirty fight. Manny claims it was a low blow. I can not see the shot in question as a flag is in the way and Manny has his back towards the camera.

Now unless Hatton tries to land repeated low blows against Manny Pacquiao, I don't see anything else Hatton can do to win. We all seen how dirty Hatton can be (please see Hatton vs KT)

If people want to base this fight on things past, take into consideration that Hatton was knocked the puck out as an amatuer and was knocked out by one shot to the chin by a fragile hands PBF.

First, yes, I've been in the ring, but not as a boxer...

Second, I used a protective cup that wasn't specially made to my balls. They have different size cups and you do your best to see which one feels comfortable.

Lastly: Check the shot out again: It looks like a chopping shot from the chin to the body. Even the commentators say it was a chin shot and his eyes were crossed. Look at how Pac reacts after he takes the shot...not sure that is a reaction from a nut-shot; more like a chin shot.


Any word on what Manny said about the fight and do you have proof he wasn't wearing a proper cup?

It was also a chopping shot from the sky to the floor, not an uppercut.
