Credit to Taylor as you say, but I don't think many boxers would argue with the stoppage even if they were on the wrong end of it. They might be pissed at fate, bad luck, God or whatever but not at the referee. Taylor was a punchbag at that point, his defence was totally gone, and his health could have been seriously endangered if that had gone even a few seonds longer.
