true, you make a solid point.....but i just didnt see gerry in dire straits....sure he was getting beatin but it wasnt like he was defensless in there....i think up too a point if a guy is just getting decimated then yea its time to stop the fight.....but at the point this one was stop....i see it minimal could have gone one more round.....that was my point of view.Comment

OFcourse he did the right desicion. I mean WTF? Penalosa was getting pounded in there, and he never showed he could of chage things. An for the looks of it, he probably would of try and survive the whole 12, and 6 months later who could of been looking like Ali or Benitez!!!!!!!!!!1
WHo ever think it wasnt the right desicion, is a straight up MORON!!!!!!!!!Comment

No way GP was gonna win but i guess they want him to have survived the whole 12 rounds.......a lesser victory of some sort.......do you think he was in any medical danger if they let the fight continue?(i have my opinion im asking yours)Comment

gerry was blocking some shots and his face didn't look bruised up or nothing, but better safe than sorryComment

Completly right call.
He told Penalosa he was giving him one more round and if nothing changed he was stopping the fightand Penalosa didn't even argue. The % and number of power punches per round was too much...continuing was pointless and just too dangerous.
And wow... some say MArgarito and Andrade have iron chin, but Penalosa is just right there....amazing chin!!!! and what a brave fighter. He lost but Lopez couldn't break his spirit.
Btw, Lopez is awesome!!!...that guy has all the tools.Comment

Of course it was right. ****, I thought he was about 2 or 3 rounds LATE on stopping it. You know you get that feeling when you think a fighter is gonna come out badly hurt or never be the same after a fight? That's what I had while watching the beatdown. It reminded me of the Chavez-Johnson fight. Very scary feeling...Comment
