If Hatton wins, he should get credit.

So who would people give the p4p king title to?

It's actually going to be a hot mess for the people who rank others if Hatton wins.

Unless he totally outboxes Pac or wins a close UD/Sd in a classic frankly I don't think he'll get any credit for 5 or so years, sadly for some reason the boxing purists have been taking credit from his wins for years and i doubt that will change.

Actually even if he outboxes Pac he probably won't get credit.

For me he'll be 4-5 P4P with JMM, BHop, Pac and maybe Vazquez above him, he's already HoF for me When was the last time a 5 year divisional champion who has titles at two weight with hattons level of draw didn't get into the HoF.

he's already Elite, beating pac doesn't propell him to Pac's level, frankly he doesn't have the boxing ability for that and he moves from borderline top 10 to borderline top 5 LWW all time.

He's a way behind Locche, JCC and Pryor though.

Are you saying it doesn't work that way because Hatton is white?

No, he's saying that because thats the way it works.

Pac loses > JMM takes over No 1.

Now if hatton beats JMM too then you can start talking about him being close to P4P No1.

In my opinion (as a white, English hatton fan) that unless something totally unbelievable happens next week pac will still be above hatton P4P because pac is a Super featherweigth fighting 2 divisions up, if both where WW (I.e P4P) Pac would win easily.

Pacquiao had to move up from super featherweight because he couldn't make weight anymore. So he's really moving up one weight division from lightweight 135 to super lightweight 140.

Hatton is a little guy too, about the same height and with shorter arms than Pacquiao.

No but he moved from 24th in the ratings to number 3 after the Jones fights. He probably would have been number 1 if he was already ranked in the top 10.

Not to mention TKO victories over those 2. Ya know, I just might feel good for Hatton if he does win. He's a nice guy, and I don't see why not he wouldn't deserve it if he wins.

Not sure how much bigger Hatton is but that does make you think how much credit can Lewis and the Klitschkos get for the smaller fighters they fought.

And then we should look at the "smaller" HW and elevate them if they fought naturally bigger fighters....shouldn't we?
