    HBO must be absolutely gutted...??

Taylor vs Froch was by far one of the best fights I've seen this year IMO.

F**k HBO with their snobbery, Pavlik vs Lockett was on HBO yet an undefeated WBC champion doesn't get a look in.

Well I actually enjoyed watching it, commentry was good and the build up and interviewing before and after the fight was great.

Gutted? I very much doubt it... the potential audience wouldn't know how it would turn out, and would have been relatively small. HBO can buy into Froch's next one.

In the UK Setanta are huge losers, though.... they are viewed as really screwing up big-time on this one, regardless of the actual circumstances. A lot of people are cancelling as this is just the sort of fight people subscribe for Setanta for.. the really massive ones (actually Haye v. Wlad excepted, due to Haye's contract with Setanta for his own promotions) will always be on Sky Sports PPV, anyway.

Wow. Setanta didn't have this? Man, they did screw up big.

It's only been shown in the UK today, on ITV at 11PM. So, we all know the result already..

Luckily, I found a good stream, that didn't cut out, and wasn't choppy generally! Thanks to Tunney

Not broadcasting it live, or any fight for that matter, is wrong in so many ways.

          Glad you got a stream.

When they didn't get, say, Berto-Rodriguez live in the UK, I didn't care. But, an undefeated, UK fighter, huge fight, big step up, it had all the ingredients of being a good 'un (Which it was), and no one got it

            Someone needs they ass fired!

There was an internet PPV, which was pretty good actually. Didn't want to risk a 'free' stream for this one.

To be fair to Setanta, Buncey said that they had their hat in the ring, as did ITV but Froch and Hennessy just wanted too much. Neither are a public service, they have to generate income more than the cost of a fight to make it worthwhile. And neither is in a particularly healthy state at the moment, ITV advertising revenue is plummeting and Setanta have just lost half (of an already small slice) of their Premier League matches to Sky next time around, which will lose a large number of subscribers. There's blame on both sides.

Makes sense. I thought it might be the Paul Williams factor. Paul is from South Carolina and doesn't have a huge fan base.
Froch is from Nottingham and I don't know how big his fan base is so it make sense that it was ppv, but only internet ppv is an interesting way to do it.

It makes sense but the capital outlay is much less doing it that way than live and taking your chances.

Setanta, Sky Sports and ITV will be kicking themselves.
