Carl Froch vs Joe Calzaghe - Who Wins?

Even though Calzaghe's retired it'll remain within the realms of possibility that he could return to the ring for a few years to come. Even Prince Naseem Hamed is anticipated to return by a few of his fans and he retired back in 2002.

Who would win in a potential match up between Joe Calzaghe and Carl Froch?

Joe would win for certain, unless he's aged a lot during the past few months.

Froch is a tough fighter, but he's not on the same level as Calzaghe.

and yet now has an equal quality win to anything Calzaghe ever did.

I would favour Joe here but Froch seems to have an extra somthing we don't all know about.

If old decrepid versions of Hopkins and Jones can put Calzaghe down, so can Froch. I cant imagine Froch careing about those slaps.

No, Calzaghe's win over the undefeated Mikkel Kessler is more impressive than Froch's win over Taylor, who had lost 2 of his previous 3 fights.

And remember the replay showed Joe's knockdown from Jones was from an illegal forearm in the face.

Calzaghe slaps Froch for 12 rounds and wins a decision.

Lets not get carried away. Froch will get picked apart by a technician like Calzaghe or Hopkins. He would look confused in there and lose a wide UD.

Kessler has beaten absolutely no-one of note and until he does that win remains with a big question mark. Beating a load of tomato cans does not a great boxer make.

Calzaghe, and he would make it look very easy.

Calzaghe may be many things but a boxing technician is not one of them.
