Taylor blocked or slipped almost all of Froch's big punches prior to the 9th, and Froch's punches in the early rounds mostly lacked snap. And he didn't manage to land his jab consistently until the middle rounds, which is something he'll need to work on.

But Froch did manage to put Taylor under constant pressure, which Taylor doesn't like, and I think that's what drained his stamina. And full props to him for the way he capitalised and picked his punches so well at the end.

Taylor needs to come to England. It's only fair.

I was watching it on Showtime in HD on a 42" screen... pausing and rewatching a lot of the exchanges w/my DVR... Froch rarely caught Taylor flush before the last few rounds. He was swinging for the fences but most of the time Taylor either slipped Carl's punches or caught them with his gloves.

Taylor gassed and THEN started getting caught.

Froch relies too much on power, making his shots slow and robotic. Apart from heart and a good chin, he knows his main weapon is power.

All Taylor needed to do was jab and back away from Froch in that last round. Everytime he let a jab go, he dropped his hands and stood still. I don't want to see a rematch yet, as Froch is willing to fight anybody, whereas Taylor's days look numbered and he'll be reaching out for a payday.

I think Froch needs to take a mandatory before trying to unify against Kessler or Bute, but Carl has stated that he would like Pavlik also.

Calzaghe would pick Froch apart, plus i do not think he will come out of retirement.

I would like to see a unification between Froch and Kessler or Bute. Bute needs 2 win against Andrade first , which he probably will. If Froch fights Kessler he will have 2 work on his defense because you cannot fight with your hands down against a puncher like Kessler....although Kessler hasn't really challenged himself since the loss to Calzague.

                Taylor was Froch's mandatory.

Anyway, this just proves once again that Jermain Taylor isn't very good. It's a shame, because he actually has talent, but he's never applied himself enough to reach his potential. So he's instead allowed the division to be ruled by a bunch of no-talent bums.

The #2 contender in the WBC is Andre Ward. Ward is as talented as Taylor and hopefully won't waste his talent like Taylor has. He would beat Froch pretty easily.

Based on what, other than your own bias? Ward is a good prospect, and has a couple of good wins against other prospects, but there's nothing we've seen yet to suggest he would or could beat Froch (or Kessler, or Bute), 'pretty easily' or otherwise.

I picked froch before the fight but was nearly wrong. He needs to make some serious changes to his style if he's gona stand any chance of beating top-level fighters. He looked very slow in comaprsion to taylor and he takes to many punches, although he does have a good chin!

                    Still, awesome fight!

Adrade vs. Froch would be a sure fire classic match. This is what I want to see. Either that or Bute vs. Froch.

Bute struggled with Adrade's pressure late. It be good see how he'd do under Froch's pressure. I still think Bute would win.
