compared to kessler, bute and taylor id say that froch is a poor titlist.
his stamina is good but nothing special.
he has power as well and from awkward angles but because of that he can't group his shots together, and his punches are quite slow as well.
as for his chin its just a matter of time before that gets cracked as well he gets hit waaaayy too often, if he faces kess i expect kess to crack his chin like SSM cracked marg.Comment

Absolutely. He'd fight him in Copenhagen, as well, which Taylor wouldn't do in a million years.
Folks, honestly, whoever you pick to win Froch v. Taylor, who is the most likely to actually fight Kessler on the back of the win?Last edited by The_Visitation; 04-25-2009, 11:40 AM.Comment

I think so as well. You have to attack Taylor and pressure him with aggression to counter his boxing talent and athletism. Although Kessler would school punchers like Andrade, Pavlik, Miranda, Abraham, and box Froch's ears off he would actually have a tough fight against someone like Taylor. Kessler is not known to be overtly aggressive and styles make fights so Taylor/Kessler would be fairly close unless Mikkel let's his hands go instead of his usual defense first style.Comment

In fairness, DiBella did say that Kessler would be a very dangerous fight for Jermain, but it was in a risk-reward context than an "I'd never match them" context.
If Kessler re-establishes himself in the US (he's all but disappeared since the Calzaghe fight aired), and could raise enough demand ($$$ speaking) for a Taylor bout, then no doubt DiBella would sign it. Taylor is always looking for big fights. He has said he can't find motivation to train for anything less.Comment

I think that Froch should think about what nobody fighter he'll have to fight to get his career back on track after this horrific loss by breakage of the jaw. He's got balls to be fair but what's he playing at thinking ahead of Taylor already!? IdiotComment

If Taylor beats Froch impressively and gets a belt, why would he go to Kessler's backyard? He'd be the draw.Comment

There's always a possibility that he hurts Taylor and or perhaps knocks him down without stopping him, then dominates with Taylor on the defensive. But Jermain survives until the final bell and it goes to the cards, then the American judges give it to Jermain.
Kind of like the Dawson-Johnson or Reid-Ottke fights, perhaps add a knockdown or two, where the aggressive boxer overcomes the more skilled boxer, but loses on the cards.Comment
