Juanma Lopez - HBO's next Latino Star

They are positioning him as the next Latino Star. He's already getting a showcase main event on HBO's BAD. Next step should be World Championship Boxing. The kid has star power, KO power and a great smile. Oscar is gone, Tito is old and fat and Miguel Cotto has show vulnerabilities. Look for this kid to be the next big thing. Oh yeah, and Gerry is getting stiffed tomorrow night.

And in a division filled with Mexicans, there is the potential for great matchups to be made, i.e., Vasquez, R. Marquez, Ponce De Leon rematch, Humberto Soto (126), Fernando Montiel (118). I see nothing but great things happening for Juanma if he can continue to impress.

I might be inclined to agree with you, but I think they are (currently) focusing their efforts on Lopez, indicative of their putting him in the main event of tomorrow night's BAD card. Ortiz and Arreola have only filled undercard slots to date.

I'm very excited by Lopez but I'm not sure just how big he can become.

They need to put him on a Cotto undercard. Get him a fan following in New York.
