Mayweather Snr is going to lose Hatton this fight

    There I said it.

I just watched a video on skysports.com and Mayweather and Hatton are talking about Hatton trying to outbox Pacquiao and not rushing in but standing off and using head movements and coming in at angles to avoid getting hit.

Put simply, IT's NOT GOING TO FCUKING WORK!

Hatton is not Floyd Mayweather Jnr and he's not going to be able to boxing in his style, Hatton has his own go-forward style and attempts to fcuk with that are only going to confuse him and get him hit.

A good example is the start of the Malinaggi fight, Hatton tried to outbox Malignaggi and ended up getting his face busted up by the end of Round 2, it was only when he went back to the old Ricky Hatton and starting really going for Paulie that he started making progress. Trouble is, he's not going to get 3 Rounds to find that out with Pacquiao, if Pac catches him a few times it could be fight over.

FM Snr is a massive gamble by Hatton and they should really have had another fight before the Pac fight to test things out. I think it's going to end in tears.

    Thoughts?

It wouldn't be all Floyds fault considering Hatton had previously made fun Seniors training tactics and then fired his long time trainer for him after his first loss. Blame should be shifted both ways.

I agree on most of it. The old rough Ricky Hatton style would be better to beat Pac. He needs to get inside and stay there, all the while rough him up. Make it a tough, long, dirty fight. Pacman trys to be too cute sometimes, got to take him out of his comfort zone.

Only that assuming those two don't know what they are doing is probably rather silly. First of all, I'd be very surprised if they announced their actual gameplan to the Pacquiao camp and public at large! Secondly, it's not about 'changing styles'; Ricky will never do that (and he didn't against Pauli, either) but adding to his repertoire, abilty to surprise and ability to adapt.

You think they'd actually reveal their gameplan a week before the fight?

Mayweather is a defensive coach by nature, I think that is their gameplan.

I really doubt it, as Hatton said during the conference call I think, Mayweather Sr. isn't trying to change his style that drastically. But if it is indeed their gameplan, they're screwed.

What Hatton needs to do is strike a balance. If he can avoid getting hit unnecessarily and only taking shots when he is on the way in to do comparatively more damage then he will have done just that.
