So will ring rust affect Floyd?

So word is that Floyd Mayweather will be coming back in July most probably against JMM meaning that it will be 19 months since he last fought competitively. So will this inactivity have had a significant effect on Floyd's skills and make him a shadow of his former self or will he just pick up where he left off?

Hell be rusty for some rounds...and by the 5th or 6th hell be back into groove a little.

We don't know and I'm not sure he does either which is why he is trying to fight JMM and not Cotto or Mosley.

Of course, he is fighting JMM for other reasons as well, but JMM will test him but not to the capacity that it will come back to haunt him...athough, who knows.

The Key is to see where he is both Mentally and Physically. The older you get and the more inactive you get and given what he has said about boxing while heading towards retirement, it doesn't favor a fighter at his best. More likely to quit actually. Hopefully, if he comes back, he is truly "back" as far as wanting to prove himself.

Plus, I don't know if anything has been cemented as far as saying he will be back through his words/mouth. Right now, if true, he is in training and in negotiations. Maybe he decides not to come back.

No. Mr boat buyer is still in his prime and has kept in shape since he left. Of all his probable opponents, Pac and JMM hopefully at 140, and SSM and Cotto at 147, I say Mr boat buyer beats em all and the only 1 who lasts 12 is SSM.

Ok Manster, your going on record and saying Mayweather will KO Cotto at 147?

Ok, I got a better question for yea, who was the last legitimate 147lb fighter Floyd knocked out?

Of course he'll be a little rusty. He's only human. Any fighter thats out for that long, prime or not, will be rusty when they return.

Maybe he'll pull a sugar ray leonard and have a couple "behind closed door" fights before then.
