This is DOn Kings deal.. not GBP... Don has a contract with tito gauranteeing him 10-15 million for 3 fights...
Bernard has the choice to take the left overs like Roy did, and win an easy fight...
Like I said, Tito is GAURANTEED 15 million... how much do you think is left over?

Who on this forum would turn down a huge payday to beat a fighter u dominated 8 yrs previous and are likely to be even easier this time round. Coupled with the fact his 44 and is retiring soon..

as a hopkins fan I don't like this fight either. It's very pointless. But its very clear why hopkins is doing it - he's trying to cash out, make the most money possible before retiring. Lots of guys do this, Calzaghe being a recent example.
In his eyes, he's accomplished everything and more than he could ever believed he would when he first laced those gloves up over 20 years ago. I cant hate on him for taking this fight, because if you look at his options, Paul Williams/Adamek or Chad Dawson, this fight will make hopkins WAY more money than anyone else.
Again I don't like it, but from a financial point of view, I can understand why he's doing it. And that's why he low balled Adamek, he would only take the fight if he would make the vast majority of the money, again showing that hopkins is only interested in cashing out at age 44.
And for all we know, maybe since the Pavlik fight hopkins knows something we don't - maybe he feels his age, maybe he feels he cant compete at an elite level anymore and wants a safe fight to retire on, who knows.
Also, unless I missed it I haven't heard a peep out of hopkins regarding this fight, so I'm still a bit skeptical it's going to happen. From what it seems though it feels pretty legit, but we'll see.

How can you tell Hopkins to retire when he is still getting paid millions to beat up people?
If Hopkins at 44 wants a LIGHT TOUCH I mean since he fought Taylor twice..Tarver...Winky...Calzaghe...and Pavlik all in a row for god sake..then fine let him take a light touch get paid and fight Adamek or Dawson or Williams next.
