Question about Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Collapse
-
Floyd has NEVER jumped 2 divisions to take a fight.
Floyd has only jumped a division ONCE without taking a tuneup. (and that's when he jumped from 130 to 135 btw which was no biggie since he's been fighting above 130 since practically the start of his career.)
Yet it's okay for Juan Manuel Marquez to jump 2 whole divisions to fight him right?Comment

oscar the la hoya stopped punching mid fight. oscar the la hoya later fought FORBES at 154 and literally received so much hits that he had broken bones.
that's the oscar that floyd fought, a shot fighter that got his face swollen and broken down by a feather fisted fighter.Comment

He didnt take tune up when he fought Castillo, when he moved to light welter his first fight was a wbc title eliminator with Corley. This technically isnt a tune up either as it was a eliminator fight.
He took a tune up when he fought Mitchell, but didnt take one when he fought Oscar.
So to answer your question he's had one tune up fight.
was corley the top guy in the division? so moving up 7 lbs. to take on corley is the equivalent of marquez moving up 12 lbs. and fighting floyd now?Last edited by Left Hook Tua; 04-24-2009, 03:03 PM.Comment
