True. But you cant deny the fact, that he has never gone to War or put up against tactical fighter of his caliber. JMM has, that is another aspect of experience.

Hell Floyd was going to move up to JMW to fight Corley again for Corley's title. Corley back out and faught his mandatory. Dont tell me Floyd doesn't fight top guys.

None of those are tough fights? All of them were champions at some point. All of which could hardley hit Floyd flush, Floyd left all of those fights unscathed.

He is way smarter than JMM. Period.
That's an exaggeration. He got buzzed and hit more than usual in some of those fights.

The only fights in that list he was immaculate was Gatti, Corrales and probably Baldomir. I also remember lowly Emanuel Augustus giving him a bloody nose and he had some crisis in the 1st Castillo fight and got wobbled by Corley.

Although I agree that floyd is the more skilled fighter, it is based on his defensive capabilities, and his speed. I think marquez maximises his physical abilities but isn't quite the athlete floyd is. Also a lot of people have a 36 year old marquez fresh in their mind and he gets hit more now then he did earlier in his career. Im sure if floyd is still fighting in his mid 30's we'l see a much more hittable fighter...only time will tell.

In terms of ring knowledge I would say its about even, I think marquez is a better counter puncher, he makes his opponent pay more when they make a mistake often with 2 or 3 punch combinations. Where floyd pot shots more and often throws quick left and right hand leads controlling the distance and making his opponent miss after he's landed

Very good descriptions of their boxing. I agree.

Personally, I think a lot of people were overly impressed with the Casamayor and Juan Diaz wins. There's no denying they were great wins for JMM at this late stage of his career, but I thought Casamayor was way past his mileage and that Diaz was being overrated prior to the Campbell loss. Still, JMM suffered some damage in those fights and I feel he has slowed down a tad. You can see it in his face since after the Chris John farce. JMM has an excellent boxing brain and is very resilient but he gets hit a lot because of his style, and especially now that he's gotten more aggressive and exciting. That's why I feel that Floyd is going to pick him apart more so because of the added baggage on JMM.

Floyd's mind is his greatest advantage over Marquez.

Mayweather is great at adapting to different styles and I would definitely give him the edge...even offensively I feel one of the only reasons Floyd punches one at a time quite often is due to not wanting to risk his hands, especially early. He's the most accurate puncher and if he was so obvious he'd be easier to block.
