really... its like cristian mijares against kostya tszyu man...

the fact that this fight is happening at all is a testament to MP's greatness...

a competitive fight with the 140 world champion is already a great accomplishment for him... and if he wins... imagine that...
Keyword in that sentence is FORMER he hasn't been a flyweight for a long time. He's bigger than Hatton in most measurements, and Hatton weighs about 5lbs more on fight night. I sick of people making Pacquiao out to be tiny when he isn't, apart from the DLH fight he moved through the weight classes because he had to and apart from the Diaz fight as weighed more on fight night than his opponents in his recent fights. It's fantastic that he started at lower weights and moved up winning titles, but Pac fans make it out like he still is a flyweight fighting much bigger guys but in reality he isn't.

Pacquiao hasn't really proved himself above 130, so in that sense Ricky's right. We won't know how well he can take the punches of a legitimate Jnr Welterweight until after the fight; and nor will we know if he has enough power at that weight to knock out an elite fighter who's more or less in his prime until after the fight.

But still, he's at the least a natural Lightweight now, and possibly a natural Jnr Welterweight. The weight he had when he started at is irrelevant, especially as he turned pro when he was only 15.
