Since there is no way of knowing of having a rematch, Cotto should face Paul Williams and from that fight we can have a pretty good estimate if Margarito would've won or lost.
But I don't think Cotto wants to fight Williams so i guess we'll never know.

W/o plaster cotto by one sided beating. Its obvious that margarito had plaster in their fight, how the hell did cottos face got deformed like that? He took more puches from the mosley and judah fight but his face was not bloated as the margarito fight. Obviously theres something wrong there. williams is a mismatch on all welterweights the dude is just too big he even dwarfed a 5'11 margarito. He should fight kelly pavlik not cotto.

only thing is..cotto cant hurt margo.......i think that broke him down more..hitting a man with ko shots..and the man kept coming..margo broke cotto's will...did he use plaster..its very possibe..but cotto fought a dumb fight
