Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Juan Marquez then Shane Mosley says Mayweather

Although no official word has yet been made, it is pretty obvious to most that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will indeed make a return to the sport. In a recent interview on FightHype, Floyd Mayweather Sr., the estranged father of Floyd Jr. suggest his son would be fighting Juan Manuel Marquez in a tune up bout in preparation for a fight with Shane Mosley.

In regards to things shaping up to be Mayweather Jr vs Marquez on July 18th, Mayweather Sr. told the online
publication: "Yeah, all he needs is two fights and he'll be ready for Shane (Mosley)."

Mayweather Sr. who is busy training his star pupil, Ricky Hatton for his upcoming battle against Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, believes Marquez will be the tune-up fight. "Marquez ain't going to be nothing but a tune-up," said Mayweather Sr., who went on to add that Marquez is someone Mayweather Jr. will take apart like it was target practice.

In regards to Mosley, Mayweather Sr. stated as a fact that his son has way faster hands than Mosley.

This ain't good. Shane is past it but whatever, I'd like nothing more but for people to stop saying "Floyd won't fight a WW" Cotto is still more worth it

Honestly, I see Shane as an easier fight for Floyd. I rather him face Pacquaio or Cotto

Like I said before, Mosley vs Mayweather is my dream fight. Idc if Mosley is 37-38 I still want this fight. Besides, I think Mosley did enough to at least get a draw against a prime Cotto.

not really... floyd will pick manny apart with timed counter shots 90% of the time manny tries to dart in there with his straight lefts... i see pac taking the first 3-4 rds just like zab did after that its a floyd massacre.

This is what Ive been saying all along. Floyd has this plan. He really wants JMM, then Pac, then Mosley, then Cotto. Thats why he doesnt want to go down too far to fight JMM & Pac because he wants to keep as close to his WW size as possible since he's so small at that weight. There is no way that he is going to fight JMM & Pac and then retire. He wouldnt do that unless the WW's went to crap in the time that he fought the first 2 guys.

Also, dont be fooled by the tuneup crap. Its not a tuneup. You can tell that Sr was saying it more in a trash talk way then a real tuneup way. He's basicaly saying that JMM is just simply not on Floyd's level even if the weight was dead even. I know that Sr doesnt like guys like JMM who get hit all the time and I think he feels that Jr will carve him up even if the fight was at LW. Thats what I think he meant
