If you beat the P4P king

who is actually moving up to fight you, that you claim is smaller and less powerful than you, should you be crowned # 1.

    I don't think so, IMHO.

Ricky Hatton is number 8, at the highest. Very good. However, if he beats Manny in ANY fashion short of killing him in the first round with a single punch, then he moves up to about 3 or 4. Marquez has close fights with Pacquiao himself and has an overall better resume than Hatton. He also has a tremendous upside, considering his next fight, regardless of who it is, is seemingly huge. Marquez would be 1, Hatton could be around 4 and Pacquiao would be 5 spot.

See If he was moving up and he beats Manny, at least # 3, I could give him. But he is really fighting a smaller man, as he says, so how could this fight push him to the top as he thinks he is.

I think between 5 is good. Behind Marquez, Manny, Hopkins, & Darchinyan.

See, you had me til you included Darchinyan. He's done remarkable things. Better than Mosley, Cotto, Vazquez or R. Marquez? No.

This is just my opinion, I think he had a great year and beat a high P4P guy in Mijares, a champ in Kirilov, unified titles and beat Arce, but this is just my opinion, I'm no boxing expert.

Hatton won't be #1 unless he beats both Pac and JMM. Beatin #1 don't automatically make you #1.

              Of course not.

Hatton would be #3 on my list, depending.

He just says it, because he's trying to give himself that extra motivation, he's the one fighting, if he pulls it off, he'll be the one that beat Pacquiao, not us. He can believe whatever he wants.

if hatton wins a decision his number 4....if he ko's pac late his number 3....if he brutally ko's pac early or mid rounds...I could see him go to number 2.

I think I might be cool with that. Barely though. He is still the bigger man and the natural 140 lber.

Bigger by about 5lbs, Pac outweighed JMM by 4 or 5lbs didn't he? Maybe he should get less credit for that win?
