With Floyd it's more of his persona than what he does in the ring that gets him over. Now, don't misconstrue that with him not being a great fighter, because he is. But to the general public, a lot of people look at Floyd more as the "bad guy" character than people accepting him for what he is, one of this generation's best. There's things as Boxing fans we see Floyd do that would make us say "Wow, Floyd is brilliant", but a general fan is probably not going to see that. Floyd's a technician, but that doesn't always transfer over well to an audience that's looking for excitement.

Obviously you can't ask Floyd to change his style just to please fans, but I can assure you if Pac continues on his run and you ask who fans would rather much see fight, I find it hard to believe a general Boxing fan would pick Floyd over Pacquiao if they're looking for an action fight.
Casual fans still pay to see Oscar fights...and couldnt tell you JMM was if you held a picture up.

Casual fans buy into 24/7's and hype and bullshyt....

Pac and Floyd are great fighters with two diffrent styles yet Floyd has done more PPV wise...career earning wise..and endorsement wise.

Hes basically the all-american bad guy that everyone loves to hate.

And Pac is the good guy.

Two diffrent personas and style of boxing...same results.

I mean, what other boxer has had his own SHOE besides RJJ? Nike is busting out with some Manny Pacs. Not only that, but Pac is even coming out in the media with positive press, just him being hounded by fans, no scandal, no cheesy c-list reality show.

May 2nd will be a big day for boxing. Even if it doesn't break PPV records, this fight will do the sport A LOT of good in the long run.

now come the floyd girls talkin how manny will never be a bigger star than floyd and how floyd owns him, ppvs, boat investments etc etc
Pac is definitely good for the sport. being more positive is better for the growth of the sport. floyd's bad boy bull**** was also good for the sport for short time profit, just look at the PPV's when Tyson was still fighting as a circus act. it brings attention to the sport but not intrigue. a casual fan will see Pac and think, wow this guy is good, he's not an animal or idiot like Tyson or gayweather, boxing isn't so bad after all. similar effect that Oscar had. its sad that floyd had to turn into the bad boy cos his style provides no excitement and does not appeal to the casual fan. you can understand why he is so messed up in the head, imagine having that much talent and no real personality. he could have taken a different route but he didn't.

btw, RJJ doesn't have his own shoe, he was sponsored by Jordan and never directly by Nike. Manny is the first ever boxer in history to have his own shoe! There is no way in hell a corporate giant would take the risk of endorsing a boxer as it is a very violent sport, not even Oscar and you don't get as clean cut as Oscar. it took Manny to change their minds. now all you floyd fans out there im sure are saying "floyd dont need no endorsement", either way, there is no way in hell a corporate giant would let some foul mouthed, dillusional idiot represent them.

lastly, love the writing in white!!

im pretty sure they made that with the hopes that Pac would use it as his entrance song. But Pac only uses his own music. the best music of all time.

Being arguably the best of your generation is hardly an embarasment to boxing. You want an embarasment to boxing? See the HW division.
