  • Hopkins vs. Trinidad Rematch in Talks For November?

Felix "Tito" Trinidad, inactive since last January's decision loss to Roy Jones Jr, is still pushing for a rematch with Bernard Hopkins. Nothing new there. [details]

In the local newspaper it showed that TIto and his dad talked to Don King today for around 2 hours and when they came out, Don King announced that "We are going to get the rematch. The rematch that Tito still needs to do". Please comment.

And also, the fight will probably happen in November. The article also says that hopkins began the fight talks and it is confirmed that it will happen.

I don't believe that article and I don't believe Don King.

I don't see why hopkins would take this UNLESS he is ONLY fighting for money and this fight w/Trinidad makes him more money than any other fight. Come to think of it, it probably does make more money (paul williams , chad dawson and adamek don't bring much $$ at all.). So if he takes this fight he's done fighting for legacy and is doing it for $.

Wasn't it pretty one sided the first time around? Isn't this like if Pavlik got a rematch with Hopkins. What the hell does Hopkins gain out of this?

Pointless for both, other than a payday for Tito, but best that can come out of this is that Tito somehow wins.....long shot though.

probably even more if they market it right.

i don't blame b-hop for taking it but from a fans point of view IT IS pointless.
