Alot of people on this forum describe Haye's chance as a punchers chance, and do this because he has something like a 90% ko ratio which is certianly incredible. The fact is that the majority of his fights have been at CW, and people presume he can bring the power up because it is only 1 weight class he is jumping, and he ko'd a small HW recently. Though lets look at the weight disparity; Haye came in at 215 against Barret and Wlad usually comes in at around 245, but at CW Haye if it was hard for him to make weight certainly put on at least 10-15lbs after the weigh in and weighed the same as he did in the Barret fight in all of his other fights, so he is no bigger now then at CW. Now if you take someone who can punch at a lower weight like Pac and had him fight someone with the same weight disparity between Haye and Wlad, lets say Chad Dawson for example, who I am picking because ppl question his chin like they do Wlad, I highly doubt ppl would be saying Pac has a punchers chance against Dawson just because he ko's guys his own weight. I actually for a period bought into the notion too that Haye had the "punchers" chance but upon further reflection it seems more and more absurd, and this fight seems to me now like a total mismatch.....It would make things interesting if Haye won but, I give him a very slim chance. Still anything can happen I guess.
Haye has a "punchers" chance?

Michael Moorer was known as a big puncher at LHW, and he was able to bring his power all the way to HW. Haye has the power, but does he have the skills, the defense to avoid Wlad's jab, and does he have the offense arsenal to land something big? If Haye is just another Samuel Peter, the fight won't last too long. You know Wlad isn't really a good defense boxer, it's his offense that's really his defense. Although Wlad is known to be chinney by boxing fans, he's 6'6 and he looks like he's made out of metal, so Haye is going to have land big shots continuously in order to really hurt Wlad. It could turn out one sided in favor of Wlad or it can be one of a hella fight with a possibility of Haye wining. That's how I see the fight turning out.Last edited by Boxingwizard; 04-21-2009, 09:02 PM.Comment

IDK about that, he perhaps has the speed, but his own offense is what could get him ko'd. Do you ever see how often he literally leaps at his opponents when trying to land a big shot? Also keeping his hand low isn't that good either. Hopefully for him he has corrected that or will in his training for this fight.Comment
