Anyone and everyone can appreciate Pacman

So I was discovered today at my job this peruvian guy watches boxing...well not really. He asked me today if I watch boxing, and I said yes, he said, aw man, you ever heard of a guy named Manny Pacquiao? I said, he sounds familiar. He said, oh man, he was the guy that knock out oscar dela hoya. I said, oh yeah that guy. He said, yeah man, I never watch boxing, but after I saw that fight, I've been watching boxing abit more whenever I can catch it on tv. He saw the Margarito-Mosley fight which he thought was awesome. Now he can't wait until pacquiao-hatton which I find out he's having a big PPV party at his crib to watch it. Haha. Pretty crazy how a man can go from not realizing hardly what boxing was, to being hooked just off of 1 guys performance.

I remember watching Pac against Lucero before he was famous.

If anyone saw that fight, they'd absolutely want to watch him more like I did.

He's a great ambassador for the sport.

I first saw him on the undercard of Lewis-Tyson. When he had his blonde hair dye, and I thought he was an old man with his mustachio. Was pretty badass performance that night, but I wasn't hooked yet into boxing. Not until he TKOed Barrera did I become an addict.

one thing he has done is open the doors for other pinoy & asian fighters in to the mainstream who have been severely underrated by the boxing community...

That was me. I was that guy at work and I was just lying to you. The fight that made me love boxing was Mayweather/Gatti. I'll see you at work.

I said "look dad that's Roy Jones" my dad just said yeah I know leave him alone. I was only 9 years old.

Those days, the lighterweight divisions were ruled by mostly Mexican fighters and there were a lot of great ones. Filipinos mostly fought in Japan and Thailand and alot of them were robbed of decisions which eventually robbed them of possible international exposure and reasonable paydays.

I still can't believe Manny lucked into getting the Ledhwaba fight. I think he was just a replacement for this televised fight. And boy did he perform. There weren't many Filipinos on HBO during those days.

Chris John should thank Pacquiao for his last US fight.
