Im asking this question because I just saw the AT&T commercial on "TV". I highlighted the word TV because before then Ive only ever seen it on the net. To me it looks different on TV. On the net Floyd looked fit and fast when he threw those combos. On TV he looked slow when he threw them to me. Maybe not slow for normal guys but much slower for what were use to from Floyd. I also thought he looked kind of old looking. Maybe that had alot to do with the bald head since some guys just dont look right with it but he looked older to me. On the net he looked smaller but he seemed fit. On TV he looks like he's more fragile then fit. His body seems kind of older looking.
You just saw Winky come back after a long layoff and although he was fighting a great guy in Williams, he still seemed like he had lost a step. He's older then Floyd but Floyd isnt this spring chicken like others are acting like he is. He's going on 33. I use to think that he doesnt need a tuneup at all but now Im starting to think that maybe he does. Maybe his reflexes wont be the same. It wont ruin him like it did RJ because he's much more fundementaly sound but its not exactly a great thing. There is no way from watching that commercial that he should fight a Mosley or Cotto or any other "big" WW in his 1st fight. I think it could be a shock to his system. The fact is that sooner or later he's going to not be the same guy again and alot of guys can fight at a high level until there 36-40 but alot of other guys have tailed way off at 32 or sooner.
Maybe Im overreacting. He's never took alot of punishment and it was just a commercial so maybe he wasnt going full speed like a Pac & Hatton are right now when there training for a fight but I thought he really looked slower, older, and pretty fragile. Maybe thats why they were thinking of having a tuneup 1st. I could also see this as being the big reason why not wanting to come down in weight. Maybe they dont want to mess with his body too much right now just incase he's not the same guy
