I think that has changed somewhat in regards to the respect Filipinos have because we actually have prospects now. Look at Penalosa, in the Philippines he has been followed and respected forever, he is just now getting recognized in the U.S. when he is almost retired.

journeymen are guys who can't compete at the elite level and are used as stepping stones by prospects or are used as tuneups.

some guys start out just being journeymen but not all guys that just started out are journeymen.
