I am just glad the brother is back. I told anyone who would listen that Floyd would come back.

I still say he retired because he was being pressured into fighting Margarito or Cotto. I say he still ducked Miguel Cotto and he might always do it because Cotto is just too big and too bad fo' dat arse. No shame in that. Got to know how to pick your fights.

At 147, this fights absurd! This fight needs to be at 140 or a reasonable catchweight at the very least IMO. I also realise that it was Marquez who called Floyd out, and he has to 'Put up, or shut up' but still, Floyd wouldn't get much credit for beating Marquez at Welterweight.
True dat. Either that are closer to 140 than 147.

No question he is accurate mofo. He is probably the top 3 best counter punchers in the sport along with Mayweather.
he definitely does get hit a tad much these days (big part of why i think Floyd'll take it), but i think there's no way he gets Floyd to fight on the front foot until the latter half. simply not happening no matter which style he uses

i can see this being a really cool style match-up... technical but not "boring" like Floyd fights have been touted in the past

yeah, i'm gonna be slightly favouring JMM... he will finally one-up Pacquiao and get the ratings he deserves

I dont think so either. Hopkins is the only one in the sport who is patient enough to feint someone out of postilion and draw lead from them. He and Mayweather are untouchable in that respect. They really dont mind making fights a little stale to get their strategy right.

Two counter punchers..........you know its gonna be a chess match. albeit an intriguing chess match.

Do you mean to say you are making JMM your fav to win the fight?

As long as Floyd is back to boxing I don't care who he fights for a tune-up.

Marquez probably wont win though unless he reverts back to the less aggressive jmm that was more patient. If he goes after floyd the way he has been doing recently against barrera, pacquiao 2 he will be beat comfortably.

You gotta favour floyd, but marquez is a live opponent for a warm up imo. It will look good on floyd's resume as far as im concerned. If floyd beats marquez then goes on to beat pac. I will seriously start thinking about giving the dude some props, allthough to put an exclamation mark on it he would ideally fight marquez/pac and cotto.

You seem cooler with the Marquez fight than me. I like it from the Floyd perspective as his first fight back, I guess, but I don't really want to see Marquez outclassed or beat down, because he's better than that. The fights I really want are Pac and Cotto, and not one or the other. Both those opponents would bring something equally significant to Floyd's CV and I really want to see both, if possible.

Its not ideal, but it is a warm up fight at the end of the day. Its the best you can expect for imo as a warm up fight. Floyd could fight a bigger man with less talent and have an easier fight, because he is not on Marquez's level regardless of weight.
