Who do these olympic fools think they are?

Seriously, Saunders, gavin, price, who do they think they are?

    Fighting once every 6 months!

They should be fighting once a month for at least the first year before they start needing massive holidays between fights! Tyson Fury is active and they should be the same, primadonnas!

Erm... it's less than three months. Still, I agree that's still too long, they aren't going to gain experience sitting on their a$$.

young fighters should fight at least every 6-8 weeks when they are coming up the ranks
        IMO

look at a young toney, he fought 26 times in 2 years before his first title shot

Ideally of course they should fight all the time, but without proper set up fights and an early loss, the signing bonus is shot and the promoter makes no money.

It's so much different with guys that promoters didn't pay for and have nothing to lose like Toney, etc.

But they are going to protect these guys and carefully pick their opponents to make sure they make money off them first, then slowly move them up.

That's the way of the world these days.

Gavin is my favorite of the bunch. I got to watch him a couple of times at the World Amateur Championships. I wish him well.

so sometime in 2022 we can expect a 15 fight pro saunders to fight for the vacant IBO ordinary intercontinental title!

              I think that's accurate.

Unless of course, they make money off him in 2013

Then all bets are off and he gets fed to the wolves.

Wow in the old days. Fighter's like Henry Armstrong had multiple fights in a span of a few months. Even if they were 4 - 8 rounders, those are still a lot of fights. Seeing a fighter with more than 60 professional fights before retiring is becoming rare.
