I just wonder because it seems to me that his left hand is stronger than his right and he throws a lot of punches using his left..against martinez it was very rare that Donaire used his right..

Good K sent, It looks like he is, and I was asking myself exactly the same thing.

I gotta say a few things

1)Donaire is huge for 112, he needs to move up, felt kinda bad seeing him beat up a smaller guy.

2)When he does move up, he might get hurt, he doesnt move his head, you can catch him with wide hooks.

    However

    3) That was one of my favorite performances this year by a boxer, if not the favorite. The timing of the counter hooks was just incredible, Martinez was just so afraid to open up with the hooks because Donaire's timing is just on point, he did get him with the counter right too, superb fighter, needs to move up though. But skills wise, there aren't many better.

thanks for the green K..yes, i was really surprised by his performance..he was punching martinez exclusively with his left hand..it was also the same when he fought the african before this fight..it also seems to me that he is reluctant to throw his right at times

Yep. Donaire is a left punch trigger happy alright. He's got excellent left uppercut and hooks.

But I don't think he's a natural lefty. If you watch his early career KO wins, they were resulted mainly from straight right. I heard he injured his left hand in his 2nd or 3rd pro fight, and it just fully healed just before the Darchikenyan fight.

ah thanks for this info..i was just surprised that his left is somewhat stonger than his right..I have started watching Donaire since his win over Darchinyan so I guess i'll never know whether he was really a natural right handed early in his career.

              im not really sure...

all im sure about is that he is a very fundamentally sound fighter who needs a new trainer...

I sort of heard from an announcer that he is ambidextrous, am not sure. That`s why he can shift stances, and his right hand is also strong.
