i never understood why people thought that, sure he lost some of the killer instinct he had before losing to nino, but for the most part he was outclassing guys.....the funny part is he was written off when he got robbed(against a roided nino) in the rematch, then lost to edgar sosa(who has 4 close losses and those happened when he was a part time boxer), and now sosa has proven to be a very good champ.....

Only saw the fight at youtube, the last round specifically and that right hook was just so sweet. It landed at full force and Solis quickly dropped and was unable to stand up.

Its just like how Nonito KOed Darchinyan, sweet counter punch.

Villoria had some awesome offense all tonight. He wasn't gun shy like he was in his past disappointments, but he sure got pummeled to the midsection a lot. Still, that was a sweet KO win. Cong****.

            Villoria restored his old glory

I watched the fights of villoria before and it seems he learned from his past mistakes...no jab,no counter and just wait for one punch for a kayo.now he knows that he needs not to be a puncher only, but a boxer too...clever fighter now he is..cong**** brian and of course to nonito the flash donaire..the bad news is ...many will be chickened out and duck him.go up to another weight..good decision.

Great job Villoria. Hope to see you on top for a while. And what a way to take the belt, not letting it go to the judges. Hawaii will be proud.

Its because it felt like something was missing with him, like he didint have that edge anymore, he looked lackluster in several outings. Even i myself had given up on him, but i am ecstatic that he has pulled this off, any of our olympians who achieve success like this makes me feel good, because more than anything, amatuers who have truely dedicated their lives to winning a title need to be recognized. I dont care if he wrapped a filipino flag on him, he fought for us, thus, there is a sense of national pride when one of our olympians pulls it off.
