I think Arum's words are empty until he sees the PPV numbers from May 2nd.

You have to understand that Mayweather/Hatton did over a million in the UK also, making Floyd the lone holder of the two biggest PPV events ever.

You know what, in the end...that doesn't sound so bad. Still, I'd perfer Floyd vs Pac

Cotto has the key to heaven in 2009/2010. He has so much leverage right now. Arum is walking on ice. He suspects Manny loses to either Mayweather and Cotto (not a knock on Manny in either case), so he is trying to evaluate the best option for him

                Cotto has 2 options

                1) fight Manny, but he would have to guarantee Manny about the same he would make against Mayweather, which would leave him peanuts and another Top Rank contract and the hope of getting Mayweather next. If Cotto beats Manny he becomes the biggest money option available to Mayweather, the biggest draw left in the sport (provided Mayweather does not retire again). Not a bad position.

                2) sit back, watch Pac-PBF, and not renew his contract with Arum hoping to get Mayweather next. Now the key thing, here is that he does not need to "hope", he just needs to get Mayweather to sign a contract with ridiculous fees if he tries to escape from him. The contract should read something like.

"I Floyd Mayweather Jr. will fight Miguel Cotto at conditions XXX after fighting Manny Pacquiao. Miguel Cotto will have a guarantee of YYY. Sould I Floyd Mayweather not fight Miguel Cotto I will pay him YYY"

If Mayweather beats Pacquiao, Miguel has YYY milions in the bank.

Cotto's contract with Arum could not expire at a best time for Cotto.

mayweather aint ever fighting a credible threat so who cares what nonsense Arum pulls out of his mouth?

if he were to fight and beat someone like mosley then it should be 50/50! but thats never gonna happen...

When people make contracts they go to the past, Floyd has his resume of PPV numbers to bring to the table, that alone gives him the edge, in fact based on his numbers, he should get around a 70/30 split.

Freddie Roach said Pac wants Floyd. If Floyd does come back and can still fight and win, let's see how long it lasts for the hold-out of this bout given Pac's pride and competitive nature.

The money should be "fair" but I'm not sure what would be fair. Depends on the numbers. Let's see what Floyd does in his return bout(s).
