I always liked Manfredo, despite the fact he will be some kind of journeyman in the future...

I would like him sometime to capture a title...

I always liked him. I never thought he was that great but he's getting better and I only wish for the best in his future.

Also remember this is the guy that was laughing at Joe Cazlaghe when he was "punching" away just to have that fat ref step in and call the fight.

              Short story.
I’ll never forget it because I just so happen to have a group of people over at my house, some boxing fans some not a fan at all for this fight. By the time Joe started "punching" (so to speak) everyone laughed at the poor dragon and started mocking him, yet everyone felt sorry for Manfredo who was laughing too as if this was some kind of European version of "PUNKED". It was a disgrace to the sport and embarrassing to all these people/friends witness this "boxing match".

Manfredo never had a chance. He shouldn’t even have been in the ring. At least he got a pay check for such a poor display of what some people would call a sanctioned boxing event. I was embarrassed to say I was a fan of the sport. It’s hard to defend Joe's punching “tactics” to the casual fan.

Anyway no hate on Calzaghe that’s his style and one must give him credit for what he’s accomplished and I do. Point is Peter got threw that embarrassing match and hopefully on the right path to something bigger. It would be nice to see him and John Duddy fight.

Manfredo lost to Sakio Bika, he's not beating elite fighters....I think he's finished.

                  Lost is an understatement.

That was at 168. I explained why he went to 168 in another thread I don;t feel like typing the story again lol. Peter openly admits that the top guys at 168 are physically too big and strong for him. If you see Peter in person, he's not a big guy at all. He is working his way back down to 160. He just took this fight at 168 because it was on short notice. He's going to New Jersey to be ringside for Duddy's next fight. Hopefully we can get em that fight in the future.

Did any of you guys watch the fight? Peter looked good man and that KO was vicious Smichet was out cold.
