    pac/hatton 24/7 question

I was re-watching the first episode of 24/7 and noticed freddie roach saying during the pac/dlh fight, when the fighters were standing in the center of the ring. Roach noticed dlh's ivy marks on his arms and he saw the fresh blood, and he said to himself that dlh hydrated himself after the weighed him in the dressing room.

my question is why would dlh have ivy marks on his arms. I understand what freddie was saying, but do they inject ur body w/ something to rehydrate you.

start from 4:47 into the vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHZ50CI4CvI

There were no "ivy" marks on De La Hoya. There were however I.V. marks. And yes, they inject preparations to rehydrate fighters who are finding it absurdly hard to make the weight class.

I think James Toney did this at some point as well. And I guess with DLH they did it after HBO's little unofficial fight night weigh in.....I guess oscar was hell bent to make it appear that he wasn't just trying to beat up on a smaller man.

Yep they have IV on him to rehydrate. The DLH all-star team could not help him that night... his body wasn't responding well.
