Is James Kirkland just the next Jeff Lacy waiting to happen?

Have watched his last 2 fights and am not impressed. He has a good chin but **** defense and just solely relies on his power. I can see his getting a total schooling at some point, similar to Calzaghe-Lacy. What do other people think?

I've said for a while that Kirkland will be exposed by a good boxer, who can take his power. However, if he's just hype like Lacy, or if he can change and come back from it... we gotta wait and see.

No he's better then Lacy. He's more relentless and a more effective pressure fighter.

He's doing fine. He had an impressive win against Julio. I think he has a chance to be a great fighter. Honestly if Margarito can get to Williams, i have no doubts that Kirkland can.

Jeff Lacy never fought a Joel Julio-type before a Calzaghe.
Lacy is highly used as an example to downplay US top prospects but that fact is Lacy was 16-0 with wins over nobodies...I never hyped up Lacy, I don't hype a fighter up unless he's got a good win over a good opponent...I honestly think Kirklands defense will get him beat up as soon as he fights an A class fighter....I'm expecting Dzinziruk to beat Kirkland.
