he held alot but not as badly as hatton does. hatton does it for 2/3rds of a
round !! .. also holyfield was like 40 something when he started
fighting like that ..... just like BHop... when they are old you
can forgive them for it .. but for a young gun like hatton
    its not acceptable ...

Of course I do, Holyfield did what he had to to win. Tyson wasn't what he once was but he was still a top heavyweight of the time and was supposed to annihilate Holyfield, not many people gave him a chance and he proved all the doubters wrong. He deserves massive credit for the win.

Of course I give Evander credit. He fough a smart fight, he got off before tyson, roughed him up on the inside, frustrated mike and got the job done in the first fight.

I thought Mills Lane particularly though should warned Evander about the use of his head as in the first fight it cut mike and again in the second, it was blantantly being used. However thats just cute on Evanders side as im sure if he was warned he would have stopped and concentrated on boxing.

After watchin recent documentaries on Tyson However, i really believe a prime Mike Tyson beats most Heavyweights in their prime also.iv nvr seen a HW with such hand speed and lateral movement able to slip the jab before exloding on the inside. I have a feeling Big George would have been to big for him and Larry Holmes and Alis jabs and reach would have been hard to overcome.

Fight of the century for me would be Tyson v Frazier. Wat a war that would be. Frazier has a rock solid chin and massive heart but Tyson would have an edge in the defence skills and speeed imo.

Anyway back to Evander, a true warrior who has my respect and credit for beating Tyson, while not prime but still dangerous.

This thread is dumb. Of course Holyfield gets credit. Sounds to me like some peeps watch Tysons new dvd and they belive all his excuses. Holyfield beat Tyson fair and square twice! or atleast the second would have been fair and square if tyson never bit of his lug. Get over it.
