Nonito Donaire, Raul Martinez are Ready To Rumble

Some muted concern over IBF/IBO flyweight champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” making the 112 pound limit at the official weigh-in for Sunday’s showdown with undefeated Raul “Cobra” Martinez of San Antonio, Texas were quickly dispelled Saturday morning when Donaire tipped the scales at 111 ˝ pounds. nonito is really overstaying at 112 category. no more reason to stay because his big fyt have gone north already. nonito is tall with heavy hands, he can campaign and be successful up to 122 lbs....just a matter of time his stars will shine bryt....

Anybody think there is a chance of the upset tonight? Iv'e seen some of Martinez's 1st round KO's and he looks like a guy who can punch for real. Donaire has this thing where his head is very still and he can get tagged. Mthalane tagged him quite a bit in their last fight, I dont think he can afford to get hit by this guy, especially early on. Then there is the weight issue, how much did it take out of him to make the weight? Because he admitted coming down from 140 to 112 back in 07' so there might be some issues there.

his weight has become a real issue, more so in this fyt. martinez can beat nonito allryt, i won't get hurt because maybe nonito is in bad shape. no excuses though, the better man will win the nyt. i believe very much in junior's style and power. he was able to absorb a few of vic's power punches though not much in volume. nonito has good defense and can still improve. he should move to wild card to be tempered like steel....

brian is in for a tougher fyt. he struggled against omar nino and will have a bigger block to hurdle in solis. i don't know what has happened to brian....he seems to be "on now-off now" in his fyts,...even in-between rounds. can be psychological.....

I hope Nonito walks into the ring in good shape cause I wanna a see a good fight. I'm leaning towards a Martinez win but I know Nonito has probably the higher chance of winning. I got Solis by wide UD.

It won't happen because of Vic losing anything, it won't happen because Gary Shaw will do everything in his power to ***** that deal.
He said as much on television. He feels Donaire betrayed him.

Honestly, I'd like to see Donaire move and move up to 115 or 118 to rumble where the action is.

Donaire has a very pretty hook and great footwork usually. And some pop.
Every time I see him I always wonder why he hasn't knocked out more guys.

The weight thing is kind of an issue. He's complained more than once he wasn't at his best because of it. Could it bite him in the ass tonight?
