Who Holds The Cards: Mayweather or Pac?

Lets say that I give Pac a major benefit of doubt and say that he destroys Hatton in 5 rounds or so. Who do you think holds the cards in a negotiation process? For some reason, everyone seems to think that Pac holds all the cards in that instance but I dont think he holds them at all. I think Floyd does.

From Floyd's view, I think he wants Pac 1st and then JMM 2nd but after that he will fight the WW's. I just think he'd much rather fight the other 2 first because it makes it a more natural move. He beats them and now he just has to worry about WW's, instead of beating a WW or 2 first and then maybe having to worry about going down to fight Pac or JMM. Its just a more natural progression if you do it the other way. I dont think he is bound by that though. I think if it gets to be a big headache then he will easily fight a guy like Berto on regular HBO and then take on Mosley. I really dont think he would cry about doing it.

Everyone is acting like Pac has all these other fights but he doesnt. He doesnt have not 1 single fight that compares to a Floyd fight and youre ****** if you think he does. What, he's going to fight JMM again for the hundredth time? What you guys dont get is that these are just hardcore boxing fans fights. You guys make it sound like Pac-JMM have sold a trillion PPV's. No one is going to go crazy about watching those fights in the main stream. Even if they have a 24/7 it wont do anything. You have JMM who cant speak English, Pac who never says anything, and No Mayweathers to really make the show go. Basicaly he will be fighting JMM who is very capable of beating him and will be doing it for much less money. That fight would do nothing in PPV sales like a Floyd-Pac fight would do.

Who else you got? Valero? Who's going to by that? Again, its a great fight for Hardcore fans but its another super dangerous opponent for much less money. Those are really the only 2 guys you can fight under WW. He's not going to fight someone like Bradley. Ofcourse, he could easily fight Cotto or Mosley. Again, he's fighting 2 guys that will be 10x harder to beat then Floyd and do it for half the money. Also, I love it how they dont want to come to 147 to fight Floyd but yet you will fight a Cotto or Mosley who are twice as big and have no chance of getting under 147. He's got to come up to fight them and do it for less money. He has nowhere else to go. People think that he has all these places to go are simple. Roach can talk all the crap he wants but he will demand that Arum make the Floyd fight after Arum tries to sell him on fighting a Cotto or something for half the money. Pac will do the same. If Floyd fought Mosley then that would do alot more PPVs then Pac-JMM and if you dont think so then you are smoking. Also, they could have the fight down the line but again, Floyd's price will only be higher then because Pac wont have nowhere to go and Floyd's name will be huge again by that time. Or maybe Floyd loses in the process and then youre killing youself for not taking the biggest money of your career and you being the one to beat an older Floyd

mayweather does....despite how pacman's promoter, ARUM, feels, floyd has more star power.

60/40 is reasonable......55/45 if floyd wants to be nice.....50/50, and floyd is being VERY generous.

Freddie Roach said Pac wanted FLOYD not Hatton. Forget what Arum says and wants. If it was up to Arum, he would keep all his stars away from Floyd despite what they want. The only fighter he wanted to risk against Floyd was Margarito, who wasn't a star, and because there was no risk in it since if Margarito lost, who cares.

Pac wants Floyd and I think Cotto would take the fight as well. That's two possible fights that could happen if the fighters want them to happen. You don't need Arum.

yeah but even if he does solid numbers, I still think Floyd can get more future PPV sales for his fights then Pac can for his. My point is that essiantly Pac will be taking much less money to fight guys who will probably be just as hard in not much harder for him then Floyd is anyways. It makes no sense for him to do that. Or he fights a guy like Valero which is a lose/lose situation

yea but, as long as cotto and pacman are signed to arum, you'd need his ok for the fight to go down......

in terms of WHO holds the better cards, is the bigger star, deserves the bigger cut.......it's mayweather.

Arum is a promoter; he works for his fighters and fighters should remember that. They have the power to easily turn it against Arum in the public eye as well as the courts (I would say) since they have "Star" power. Maybe with lesser known fighters under Arum's control, Bob can get away with it, but if Pac and Cotto really want Floyd, they can get the fight made. Arum's job is to setup all the other stuff: Getting a fair offer for his fighters and where the fight will be held (which will be Vegas).
