Manny Pacquiao Video: Too Nice a Guy to Look Tough?

`I've interviewed Manny Pacquiao a few times and found him to be an unfailingly nice guy. But when promoters are hyping a fight, they usually want their boxers to look like tough guys, not nice guys. So it's no surprise that when Pacquiao filmed a commercial for his upcoming fight with Ricky Hatton, the director told him he looked too happy. (Video below.)
Pacquiao smiles as he says, "I've dominated every weight class," and that makes the director tell him, "Good, but you're too happy."
I understand why a director shooting a promotional video for a boxing match would want his subject to look tough, but part of what makes Pacquiao so likable is that he's a killer in the ring and a nice guy out of it. There's no reason to wipe the smile off Pacquiao's face. That's who he is.`
