tell me the truth.. if B-Hop wasn't from Philly, would he still be one of your favorites?I agree, but at the same time, you gotta see where it comes from : Boxing has always been a very Nationalistic sport. People root for those they identify with : Whether if it's for their racial makeup, the Country they were born in, or what have you.
I root for everybody who comes from Philadelphia because I identify with that. I came from there myself, and I love the City's history and tradition of boxing.
Same way Mexicans do with Mexicans, Puerto Ricans with Puerto Ricans, Brits with Brits, Pinoys with Pinoys, etc........
The problem only comes when you only root for those guys.Comment

As many have already mentioned, the idea that hand cream somehow caused all of this is unbelievable and insults a reasonable person’s intelligence. First, they said nothing was there, then they said only the trainer cheated. Now they are saying it was only hand cream. First off, of you are going to lie, at least stick to one lie. It makes it a little more believable. Second, this isn’t doing Margarito any favors. If he admitted to making a bad decision and showed remorse over it, he would have gained at least some measure of respect and fans would have been more willing to forgive him. I also believe his license would have been more likely to be returned to him after his suspension. But these lies aren’t helping him with either boxing fans or any athletic commission.
Also, what Margarito did proves that all boxers are dishonest. Plus, he cheated and is a man, which must mean all men are cheaters. As well, since he has a goatee that of course must mean that all people with goatees are dishonorable. If you think those statements are idiotic, you’re right, they are. Only a fool would believe there to be a connection between the two things. And it’s equally as idiotic to believe that what Margarito did should be a knock against all Mexicans. Margarito is a boxer who made an individual decision to cheat, and that decision has nothing to do with any other Mexican in the world. It doesn’t matter what race or nationality he is, only that he cheated and I believe what he did shouldn’t have any negative reflection upon any other group he associates with. Mexicans as a whole are honorable people, Margarito as an individual is not.Comment

Let me get this straight, the hand cream was placed on Margarito and that cream got all over the protective wraps? And that cream contained the elements also found in plaster?
Sounds like Margarito has a legitimate case.Comment
